TURA: The stalemate between the Tura Traders’ Union (TTU) and Tura Municipal Board CEO, Z.J. Sangma appears to be coming to a close with Chief Minister Mukul Sangma allegedly assuring a delegation of the Tura traders that their demand for the removal of the official would be looked into.
A delegation comprising of the leaders of the TTU left for Shillong earlier on November 3 after the CM’s willingness to meet them on their demand was conveyed by the MLAs of both North and South Tura.
The delegation was granted an audience with Sangma the next day where they submitted a memorandum highlighting the plight of the traders on account of alleged high handedness by the CEO.
According to the TTU delegation they were assured by the chief minister that their demands would be looked into and a suitable officer would be appointed to replace the official at the earliest.
