K.L. Bajoria, Sohra Govt. win in NEHU Inter College Cricket Tourney
Shillong: K.L. Bajoria College won the first match against Synod College in the NEHU Inter College Cricket Tournament at the Shillong cricket ground, Polo, on Friday.  K.L. Bajoria College batted first and scored 96 runs after losing all the wickets in 20 overs. In reply Synod College were all out for 91 runs 19.5 overs. In the second match, Sohra Govt. College defeated Sankardev College by 4 wickets. Sankardev College opted to bat first and was bundled out for 79 runs in 19.2 overs. In reply, Sohra Govt. College quickly chased the target and losing 6 wickets in 13.3 overs.
BSF to organize Marathon Run for Golden Jubilee celebration
Shillong: To celebrate its Golden Jubilee, the BSF will organize a 21 km marathon from BSF Campus in Mawpat, Shillong on November 8 at 6:00 am. The event will be for all age groups.
Vijender eyes another smashing show in 2nd pro bout
Dublin: Buoyed by a knockout start to his professional career, Indian boxer Vijender Singh will be up against Dean Gillen in his second bout here tomorrow in front of an audience which will not just have boxing aficionados but also Hollywood executives exploring his potential as a movie star. Vijender, who notched up a Technical Knockout against Sonny Whiting in his debut fight last month, will take on British boxer Gillen, a part-time fire-fighter, in a four-round contest. The 30-year-old from Haryana is no stranger to the movie world having already starred in the Bollywood film ‘Fugly’ and has also appeared on the reality TV show MTV Hero Roadies X2. (PTI)
