IIM Shillong Golf Cup Season 8 concludes

Shillong: The IIM Shillong Golf Cup concluded in the city at Shillong Golf Course on Sunday.
The inaugural tee off to commence the game was done by Chief Information Commissioner of Meghalaya C. D. Kynjing at 6 AM.  About 120 golfers covered the course over the two days.
Representatives from leading corporate houses including Vice President at Deutsche Bank Raman Grover, Director at Oracle Era Singh, Divisional Vice President at United Spirits Prashant M.S., Country Manager at Hewlett Packard India Amer Warsi and Ernst & Young’s Sukesh Choubey amongst others took part in the event.
Players from various government ministries and armed forces included Indian National Congress’s Tony Curtis Lyngdoh, Maj. Geeta Mishra, and Maj. (Retd.) Dr. K. I. Singh.
The game was organized on a stroke play format with players ranked on the basis of finishing the 18-hole course in the least number of strokes played.
The players are distinguished on three handicap grades of 0-12, 13-18 and 19-24 for gents, and separate categories for corporate representatives and females.
Prizes were organized in each of these categories along with separate prizes for the nearest to pin, longest drive and straightest drive. The winners from the categories above included Jonathan Lawphniaw  (Gross), B. Malakar (Nett),  Jobeth D. Chyne (Gross),  IA &AS AG Rajesh Singh (Nett), IA &AS AG  L. Hangsing (Gross) and U. J. Shanpru (Nett)
The winner in  corporate players category was Randhir Mishra (18) and the winner in the female category was D. Shullai (15).
Further the awards for nearest to pin, longest drive and straightest drive were bagged by Maj (Retd.) Dr. K. I Singh, Batkupar Synrem, and Rocky Hek respectively.
