Mentally ill man dead in road mishap in EJH

SHILLONG: A mentally ill person was killed in a tragic road accident on Thursday, a delayed report said on Monday.
According to police, on November 5 at around 4.30 pm, a truck (AS-01DD-3312) was proceeding from Guwahati towards Silchar and on reaching Sonapur in East Jaintia Hills, the victim identified as Vijay Hari Pandit, suspected to be mentally unstable, who was walking on the side of the road, jumped onto the rear tyre of the moving truck.
As a result, he sustained injuries and later succumbed to his injuries on his way to hospital.
