SHILLONG: Elizabeth Hume, a British citizen who went missing while kayaking on the Umngi river near Kenbah village at Phlangwanbroi, Mawsynram on November 5 is yet to be traced.
East Khasi Hills SP M Kharkrang informed that search and rescue operations are still on for the missing British citizen.
It was on the third day of a trip down the river, when Hume, paddling as part of an experienced international team of 5, with a combined kayaking experience of over 75 years “got into difficulties at the base of a waterfall”.
After being unable to escape the tow back, she exited her kayak and disappeared beneath the water.
