SHILLONG: After all means had failed, an FIR against an SPTS conductor prompted him to return change to a woman passenger.
The woman who was travelling in an SPTS bus (ML 01 6954) from Iewduh to Madanriting on Thursday was charged Rs.15 as fare.
She gave the conductor Rs.100 and asked for change, which he refused. He even told the woman that she was free to lodge a complaint with anyone.
Aggrieved over the adamant attitude of the conductor, the woman lodged a complaint with the Madanrting Traffic branch following which the conductor was detained and brought to the police station.
The conductor was later compelled to return the change.
