SHILLONG: One Assam Rifles personnel was arrested for allegedly raping a maid in city on Saturday.
According to police, the maid servant complained to police that at around 1.15pm one person by the name of Sunil forcefully made her board a local taxi and took her to his rented house at Polo and raped her.
However, she was able to escape from his clutches.
Later, the police apprehended the accused Sunil Singh (30) , the Assam Rifles Rifleman no 50131312.
Police have registered a case in this connection.
