MCCL employees get back to work

SHILLONG: Employees of Mawmluh Cherra Cements Limited (MCCL) who were on strike have decided to go back to work following discussions with MCCL Managing Director Sanjay Goyal.
Informing of the development, Goyal said the MCCL management has sought the support of the Industries department with regards to the pending salaries of the MCCL employees.
He also said the commissioning of the new MCCL project was at hand and any sort of strike will further delay the project.
It may be mentioned that the salaries of the MCCL employees have not been released since February this year.
Set up in the early 1960s, the MCCL is the oldest public sector undertaking in the State and the only State-owned cement plant.
