Parikrama band performs in Shillong

SHILLONG: in a noble initiative, Seagram’s 100 Pipers music initiated a new programme called ‘A Few Good Musicians – Play for a cause’, a 15-city music tour by celebrated artists from across India and Parikrama, a prominent band in the country performed in Shillong on Friday.
Speaking to media persons here, Parikrama spokesperson, Subir Malik said that the programme is dedicated for sponsoring meals for underprivileged           and is dedicated towards underprivileged homes in India.
He also said that they are in talks with Meghalaya Government to have a rock concert in Shillong on December 17
The concert will showcase India’s legendary classic rock band Parikrama and many other legendary artists like Ehsaan Noorani, Rudy Wallang (Soulmate), Tipriti Kharbangar (Soulmate), Shilpa Rao, K Mohan  (Agnee), Koco (Agnee), Bruce Lee Mani (Thermal & a Quarter), Luke Kenny, Suraj Jagan.
He said that they have conducted a similar drive in Mumbai and   they are targeting to cover around 50000 families in the by the end of their tour
When asked about the local bands that are yet to get a proper platform to exhibit their talent, he said that the bands in other states like Raipur and Lucknow are also good and added that opportunities are far better in Mumbai. He also added that the Hornbill festival is a big festival with huge prize money.
