VAB rally riot case: fifth accused arrested

SHILLONG: With the police on hunt against those who created trouble near Civil hospital junction on November 5 during the Village Administration Bill or VAB rally which was called by called by the Headmen body, one person identified as Blesstar Rynjah (47) from Lawsohtun area  wanted in the rioting case has reportedly  surrendered at Rilbong the beat house on Saturday.
Blesstar Rynjah was arrested and forwarded to the  Court with a prayer to remand him to two days police custody with a view to ascertain the identities of other accomplices invilved oin the riots.
East Khasi Hills SP, M. Kharkrang informed that police are making all attempts to catch hold of  the criminals who were involved in connection with the crime.
Earlier, four persons, all from Lawsohtun were arrested for their alleged involvement in the stone-pelting incident during the rally.
They have been identified as Batjingshai Lyngdoh (18), Sylvester Khongjie (22), Lambok Dohling (18) and George Rynjah (20).
