SHILLONG: East Khasi Hills SP M. Kharkrang asked parents to ensure their children ride bicycles safely on the city roads.
The SP clarified that the bicycles were ridden by children between the age group of 10 and 15 in a rash manner.
Concerned about their safety, Shillong Traffic Police lamped the bicycles and asked the children to call their parents/guardians, who came and were counselled as to the manner the children were riding which may endanger their life, SP said.  Later the bicycles were released.
“This was done in the interest of the children especially considering the advent of winter vacation where many children will be riding cycles on the road for which Shillong Traffic Police (STP) request the parents/guardians to ensure that the children ride safely”, said the SP
