SHILLONG: The first batch of Special Multi Task Force 10 (SF-10) will be ready by June next year.
Informing this here on Friday, Meghalaya police PRO GHP Raju said that around 500 candidates have been selected for the specialized force and the new recruits are presently undergoing their basic induction training at the 1st MLP battalion and the 4th MLP battalion
“From February they will go for a 12-week commando training,” he said.
Initially, there were around 1200 vacancies in the elite force but only around 500 candidates have been recruited.
The SF-10 will be the first specialized police unit in Meghalaya which would have 180 posts exclusively reserved for women out of the total of 1200 posts.
