Inspection reveals shortcomings
NONGPOH: Acting on repeated complaints, KHADC MDC from Umsning, Donkupar Sumer, conducted a spot inspection of Umsning Community Health Centre on Friday and found that there was a shortage of doctors and other healthcare facilities compelling the public to seek medical assistance elsewhere.
During his visit, Sumer met Medical Officer in charge, Dr. M. Lyngdoh, and enquired of the status of the CHC.
Speaking to newsmen later, Sumer said that the healthcare facilities provided by the CHC were not up to the mark. The CHC was running with only two general doctors, he added.
“Surprisingly, indoor patients who were admitted in the CHC were not provided food like in other CHCs in the State. Even the X-ray machine installed for the last fifteen year in the centre is yet to be operated,” Sumer informed.
The MDC assured to take up the matter with the State government and the Health minister so that an early solution to the problems faced by the public can be found.
