BSF seizes PAN, Aadhaar cards from B’deshi immigrants

SHILLONG: In what could be termed as a disturbing development, the BSF has seized fake PAN and Aadhaar cards from illegal immigrants from Bangladesh.
The cards were seized when two persons were heading to Bangladesh from Meghalaya.
The BSF personnel deployed at West Garo Hills District apprehended the Bangladeshi nationals at Barengapara bus stand under Dalu, while they were trying to enter Bangladesh.
The apprehended persons have been identified as Md Saddiq (26) son of Hakim Ali from Sherpur, Bangladesh and Momin Miya, son of Iyazul Mirdha from Gazipur in the same country.
Apart from the PAN cards and Aadhaar card, the BSF also recovered two mobile phones with two Indian and five Bangladeshi SIM cards, one headphone, two chargers, Indian currency worth Rs. 1,630 and some Bangladesh Taka from their possession.
