Dedication of William Carey University College a seminar held

Nongpoh: A one day seminar on Integrated Farming System, organized by the William Carey University was inaugurated by DD Lapang, Chief Adviser to the government of Meghalaya on Monday at Vocational training centre, Ri Bhoi Sepngi Presbytery Mersohbhala, Umsing.
In the inaugural programme, a dedication of William Carey University College was made in prayer led by Rev. Dr E.R Tongper, Director, TESPRO.
Speaking on the occasion, Lapang lauded and appreciated the effort made by Dr Ken, Chancellor to establish the university in Meghalaya.
“His vision is beneficial and constructive as the doctrine, ideology and concept of this university is different from others. William Carey University is a unique vision, it is an institution that will not just concentrate on educational but also it will integrate with socio-economic lives and environmental realities. This university will boost out professional entrepreneurs, empower people and transform lives through educational and trainings,” Lapang said.
He further said that it is the need of the hour to find out ways and means
correlated with the problem faced by the state and the country as a whole, like
unemployment, environment problem etc.
Lapang also said that it is high time for each one of us to live with the head held high to combat with the challenges we faced for the prosperous future, such seminar on the topic integrated farming system will prove beneficial to all particularly the unemployed people.  He urged them not to depend exclusively on white color job but instead to create possibilities for self employment for better livelihood.
