SHILLONG: Police rescued one person from the clutches of abductors in Ri-Bhoi district on Wednesday. Acting on inputs regarding presence of armed kidnappers along with the victim Shambu Chettri (40), police conducted a raid at Rupa Pani village under Khanapara PS (RB) and safely rescued Chettri. The kidnappers, however, managed to escape.Chettri, a driver by profession, was abducted from Jorabat on December 1.
