Rape accused, mother file FIRs against habitual offender

SHILLONG: Lorina Nongsiej, mother of Bobby Nongsiej, who is accused of outraging the modesty of a married woman at her residence at Laitumkhrah, has filed an FIR against one Albert Jyrwa claiming that Jyrwa had threatened her with filthy language at Nongmynsong PS in front of police.
She also filed a rejoinder to the FIR claiming that on November 29, the mother of Albert Jyrwa and his wife had come to her residence and threatened her with dire consequences.
Bobby Nongsiej had, earlier, filed an FIR that Albert Jyrwa along with two of his friends had assaulted him at Jyrwa’s residence on November 28 and had taken away his motorcycle and his mobile phone.
As per police records, Jyrwa was an accused in an attempt to murder case at Laitumkhrah PS. He was also earlier involved in several cases of burglary.
Jyrwa had also assaulted two UTPs – Wanshailang Jana and Nimi Lama – inside the Shillong        Court lockup in early 2014.
In the incident, one of the UTPs sustained injuries prompting the police to register suo moto case against Jyrwa for assault.
Jyrwa was also arrested earlier for allegedly trying to burn his wife and children.
