Party likely to expel L.G. Nongsiej and Morningstar Mawsor

SHILLONG: HSPDP president Ardent Miller Basaiawmoit on Thursday said the party’s central executive committee (CEC) would take a final call on the disciplinary action to be taken against two party MDCs – L.G. Nongsiej and Morningstar Mawsor – who had extended their support to the PDF led Executive Committee in the KHADC under the leadership of P.N. Syiem without consulting the party.
“The CEC would decide on whether to issue a show cause or to directly expel the two MDCs for their decision to support the PDF EC in the KHADC without taking the party into confidence. The action of the two MDCs calls for strong disciplinary action,” Basaiawmoit said, adding that the party would meet soon to take a call on the matter.
The HSPDP president also said the action of the two MDCs was an indication that they no longer wished to remain with the party.
Asked if his statement was a sign that the MDCs would be expelled from the HSPDP, Basaiawmoit reiterated that the final decision would be taken by the party CEC.
