SHILLONG: A person accused of outraging the modesty of a married woman in her residence at Laitumkhrah recently, has clarified that the supposedly victimized woman was actually trying to defend her husband by labeling false charges on him.
According to Bobby Nongsiej, the accused, the husband of the woman, Albert  Jyrwa, who is a habitual offender had dragged him (Bobby) out of his house and snatched his bike keys and took him to his (Jyrwa’s) residence at Nongrimmaw, Laitumkhrah.
“On reaching his residence, Jyrwa and his brother beat me up and took away my mobile phone which belongs to my mother and attempted to stab me with a knife in the presence of his wife but I somehow managed to escape with the help of my friend,” Nongsiej said while recounting the incident.
Nongsiej said that he filed an FIR at Laitumkhrah police station the following day and reiterated that the allegations leveled against him by Jyrwa’s wife was baseless.
