Special awards, carol contest mark Christ School function

SHILLONG:Special awards for noted personalities and carol competition marked the sixth Christmas festival (Peace and Brotherhood celebration) and annual day of Christ School (International), Nongsder, Umiam on Saturday.
The day started with the celebration of Holy Mass officiated by Arch Bishop Dominic Jala. Following this, a carol competition was inaugurated by Sr. Judith Shadap. A total 14 choir groups from different parts of Shillong, Nongstoin and Mizoram competed in the event.  During the closing ceremony, North East Award 2015 were presented to noted personalities for their efforts in peace building, tribal literature, social work and youth and education by Governor
V. Shanmuganathan.
The awardees included Dr.Leban Serto, Dr. Barnes Lister Mawrie, Sr. Rose Kayathinkara and Fr. V.M Thomas.
The awards were presented with support from Christ School and  Don Bosco Centre for Indigenous Culture, (DBCIC), Don Bosco Museum, Mawlai.
