Public hearings
The Deputy Commissioner, West Garo Hills & District Programme Coordinator for MGNREGS, has informed that public hearings on the presentation of reports of recently concluded Social Audit 2014-15 first round facilitated by the Bethany Society on the implementation of MGNREGS under Dadenggre Development Block will be held for different G.S. circles of the Block. The hearing will be held at MFC Building, Dadenggre on December 10, Kama Mronggre Cluster Circle Building on December 11 and Hollaidanga Government L.P. School on December 12 from 10:30 AM onwards.
Lok Adalat
The District & Sessions Judge Cum Chairman DLS, Ri Bhoi District, has informed that the National Lok Adalat scheduled to be held on December 12 at the office of the District & Sessions Judge, Ri Bhoi District, has been postponed to December 19.
Symposium
The Meghalaya Economic Association will organize a symposium on the theme “Smart Village Smart People” on December 9 at Pinewood Hotel, Shillong from 10 AM.
Unclaimed body
An unidentified male (22-30 years), found lying unconscious near Rhino Point, was shifted to Civil Hospital by 108 Emergency Service on November 28. He expired on December 2 and the body has been kept at the Shillong Civil Hospital morgue. The body is of medium built and had worn cream coloured check full shirt, blue sweater, dark blue half jacket and blue jeans. People who can identify the person may contact the police control room.
One Ramaya Limbu (32 years) was admitted in the female medical ward of the Shillong Civil Hospital on Nov 12 and expired on Nov 27. Relatives are requested to collect the body from the morgue immediately or within December 10 failing which the body will be send for disposal by the Shillong Municipal Board.
Re-accreditation
Sankardev College, Shillong will be going for the second cycle of re-assessment and re-accreditation with the National Assessment and Accreditation Council (NAAC), Bangalore. The institution had submitted its self study report on the basis of which the NAAC peer team will be visiting the College on Dec 7-9.
Cleaning drive
The Dorbar Shnong Nongkhyriem will conduct the annual cleaning drive on December 12 from 8 AM onwards. The Dorbar Shnong has urged the residents to take part in the cleaning drive.
Prohibition
The Dorbar Shnong Jaiaw Laitdom has prohibited its residents as well as others residing outside Jaiaw Laitdom from indulging in drinking/ drug abuse on the roads or inside vehicles or committing nuisance that affects the society at large. Offenders will be punished as per the Dorbar rules.
Programme
The North East Educational and Development Society in collaboration with the Meghalaya State Council for Child Welfare is organising ‘ENVIROVISION 2015’ with the theme ‘Green Ideas for A Greener Tomorrow’ on December 8 at Lahairoi Garden, Nongmynsong near St. Claret School at 10 AM.
