SHILLONG: CSWO president, Agnes Kharshiing has petitioned the Chief Secretary demanding immediate cancellation of allotment of land in plot II in New Shillong Township to various departments of the state and the centre.
The memorandum submitted to the Chief Secretary says, “Land  documents for Plot II in New Shillong Township purchased and acquired from Unikev Kharkongor and Nearly  Kharkongor in the year 2003 and 2006-2007 and now being  allotted to various departments of State and Central, is a forged and  tampered one, and this can be verified with the East Khasi Hills District wherein a case has also been registered and a FSL report has been prepared by the Office of the Director  Forensic Science Laboratory, Meghalaya, Shillong which confirms  that the land document is a forged one.”
“For reasons best known to the District Police Head just  when the case was ready for Charge sheeting they have handed over the case to another Investigating Officer but may not  have informed the concerned office of the tampered documents.” Kharshiing said.
CSWO asked the department of Urban affairs to immediately cancel all allotment of lands from this plot II in New Shillong Township, to various departments of the State and the Centre, and to seek clarification from the Police  of East Khasi Hills in this matter
“There also seems to be direct involvement of MUDA Counsel  and other officials of the Department in furthering the illegal allotment and this clearly indicates corruption and State  Government cannot stay mute to such illegal activities,” CSWO further alleged.
