SHILLONG: An unidentified SBI account holder has duped Umroi MLA Ngaitlang Dhar of Rs 1, 80,000
According to complaint lodged by Dhar, on October 4 he issued a cheque to one Albert Wahlang.
When the bearer deposited the cheque at SBI’s Laitumkhrah branch, he was informed that a cheque with the same number had already been cleared on December 2, 2015 and Rs. 1, 80,000 had been credited to one SBI account holder of Dhemaji (Assam).
The complainant suspected involvement of bank officials in the case. Police investigation is on.
