Anomalies in list of ANVC-B beneficiaries rectified

SHILLONG: Over 500 cadres of ANVC-ANVC-B will benefit from the rehabilitation package of Rs 1.5 lakh each which will be disbursed soon.
Informing this here on Thursday, a senior government official said that the financial implication in this regard would be around Rs 10 crore.
The official told reporters that while around 130 cadres to avail the scheme will be from ANVC-B, the remaining are from ANVC.
The Centre will bear the expenditure of the rehabilitation package.
After the complaints regarding the exclusion of names of some ANVC-B cadres from the list of beneficiaries, the state government has rectified the matter.
A meeting to work out the modalities for disbursement of the rehabilitation package was held on Thursday. The meeting, convened by Chief Secretary Barkos Warjri, was attended by several senior government officials.
“Rs 1.5 lakh which will be disbursed to the cadres will be treated as seed money so that this can be utilized by the cadres to start some viable projects,” the official said
As the Centre had also cleared the pending stipend of Rs 3,500 each to the cadres, the same will also be disbursed.
The state government will provide counseling, skill development initiatives and other trainings for livelihood initiatives to help the cadres who want to start any ventures to sustain themselves individually or in a group.
According to the government, the cadres can also start co-operative societies with the financial and other helps which will be provided by the state government.
