SHILLONG: A battalion constable of 1st MLP Bn, Mawiong allegedly shot dead his maternal uncle at his residence at Nongtrai village under Mawsynram police station.
Police said that the incident happened at around 3 am on Tuesday when the battalion constable Esmond Lyngdoh Sangma (27) fatally shot his maternal uncle Sanbor Lyngdoh (40 yrs) with his service 9mm pistol in his residence at Nongtrai village.
Police have arrested the accused and the Commandant of the Battalion has sought a report on the incident from the SP East Khasi Hills.
