SHILLONG: The State government has approved the name of Addl. Advocate General B.P. Todi as the new advocate general.
Informing this here on Tuesday, Chief Minister Mukul Sangma said the State government forwarded Todi’s name for the post of advocate general to the Governor who has accepted the same.
A notification in this regard was issued by Tuesday evening itself, the chief minister added.
Todi’s predecessor K.S. Kynjing had put in his papers last week following pressure from the State government allegedly as he had been drawing flak during the various legal proceedings in the Court while representing the State government.
