Govt asked to start Cherry Blossoms plantation on NH 40

SHILLONG: Prof. Dinabandhu Sahoo, Director of Institute of Bio-Resources and Sustainable Development, who has initiated a Cherry Blossom plantation drive in the city, has asked the State government to beautify the Guwahati-Shillong National Highway by initiating Cherry Blossom plantation.
Prof. Sahoo also informed that they have completed the first phase of Cherry Blossom plantation in Shillong under which 1000 trees were planted in different parts of the city including New Shillong Township area.
He further added that the plantation work has been stopped at the moment in view of the ongoing Winter season and would resume during the Summer and Monsoon months.
