2015: THE YEAR THAT WAS

A year that placed the State in the pages of history, 2015 witnessed the daparture of many a great soul including the former President of India, APJ Abdul Kalam in Shillong. The year saw violence in Garo Hills going from bad to worse with a series of abductions and killings.
Killing of women in the name of witch hunt, death of migrant labourers, natural calamities in the form of fatal landslides among others plagued the year. However, it was not all bad as the year was significant with the signing of peace pact by UALA leaders.
