Driver flees after accident
On December 30 at around 7 am, an accident took place between one Tata Aria car (AS-01-MA-5659) and one Maruti car (ML-05K-6393) driven by Mahesh Das at Ryndangbriew GS Road (EKH). As a result, driver of Maruti car sustained minor injuries. After the incident, driver of Tata Aria car fled away.
Body recovered at Nongpoh
On December 29 morning, body of one Biswanat Munda (55) was recovered from GS Road at Pahamsyiem, Nongpoh (RB). Necessary formalities were observed and matter is under enquiry.
Thief arrested
On December 29 at around 7.45 pm, one Subnam Chettri (21) broke into the quarter of K.B. Singh at GSI Quarters, Laitumkhrah with the intention to commit theft. Police arrested the accused.
Truck missing
One Md. Aynal Haque lodged a complaint that on December 28, he found that his truck (AS-01U-6065) which was parked at Umiam GS Road (RB) was missing.
Taxi driver threatened
One Donbok Papang lodged a complaint that on December 28 at around 6.15 pm, while he was driving his Maruti local taxi (ML-04A-0678), one Hyundai Eon car (ML-04B-1009) driven by one Matdong accompanied by Monlang Nongtdu, dashed against his local taxi at New Hill, Jowai (WJH) and also threatened the complainant with dire consequences.
