SHILLONG: Residents of Demseiniong locality have come out to question the role and functioning of the Office of Deputy Headman even after his term of office had expired from the year 2008-2011 onwards.
They alleged that no Dorbar has been convened so far to accept the resignation of the functionary and elect new members to the vacant post if any and without a proper Executive Committee.
It may be mentioned that a senior resident of Demseiniong-Laitumkhrah has alleged that the Deputy Headman, A. Blah, has misused his post by allegedly not convening a Dorbar since 2008.
Mickey Lyngdoh, a senior resident alleged that the illiterate residents of the locality as well as senior residents are surprised that the Dorbar has not been convened since October 2008 after election of Blah as headman of Demseiniong.
