Muzaffarnagar: Three officials of Uttar Pradesh Agro Centre have been suspended after samples of fertiliser procured there were found to be fake. Manager Ajai Pal, Sales officer Anand Pal and accountant Ramnivas were suspended yesterday after samples of fertiliser were found to be fake following a laboratory test, Chief Development Officer Avinash Kumar said on Monday. The samples were sent for testing following a complaint by farmers to district authorities alleging that the Agro Centre at New Mandi here was supplying fake fertilizer, he said. Anand Pal was booked under the Essential Commodities Act in December last year after 134 bags of fertiliser were seized from a government shop following complaints that it was fake. District Magistrate N C Shukla had recommended his suspension. (PTI)
