SHILLONG: The KHADC chief PN Syiem has ruled out immediate reshuffle of executive committee (EC).
“There will be a reshuffle, but not at present moment,” Syiem said while talking to media persons here on Wednesday.
Reacting to a query on media reports that some present EMs will be removed to make way for others supporting PDF, Syiem said that till date there was no such move.
When referred to Adelbert Nongrum’s statement that PT Sawkmie was trying to unseat him, the CEM said, “That is Adelbert’s  view. There is no such development.”
As to the issue of dropping some of the present EMs, he indicated that the matter has not been discussed and it would be improper to do so.
Stating that PDF is at present united, he said,  “The PDF will resolve internal problem, if there is any, through negotiations”.
He also opposed the Cabinet’s decision to disallow Government servants to hold office in traditional institutions, saying  “this is a customary practice of the people.”
NOMINATED MDC:  Referring to the issue of nominated MDC, Syiem hoped that J. Reenbohn’ name would get the state Governor’s seal of approval.
The State Government is rooting for Irene Lyngdoh, ex-MLA for the post while the KHADC has proposed the name of Reenbohn, retired District Council Judge, through a resolution passed unanimously during the special session of the Council held last year.
The Governor, V. Shanmuganthan has sent back both the names to avoid any confusion.
