Pala leaves for Nepal to promote 12th SAG

New Delhi: Shillong M.P. Vincent H Pala, member of the 12th South Asian Games organizing committee on Thursday left for Nepal as part of a high level delegation to have meeting with the Sports Minister at Kathmandu and give the upcoming Games a wide publicity.
During the three day visit, the delegation  is expected to ensure wide publicity of the 12th South Asian Games. The delegation will also hold meetings with the National Organising Committee and few of the National Sports Federations of Nepal.
Eminent sportspersons of Nepal are also likely to meet the delegation.
The delegation is also expected to make a presentation on the Games during each of the meetings/conference.
The 12th South Asian Games is bigger than any of the previous editions, taking the total medal events to around 235.
Over 3600 athletes will take part in this edition of the games against around 2600 of the last edition making it a much bigger event.
The Games which begin from February 6 will also be the biggest sporting extravaganza ever in the North East region.
For conduct of the games an organizing committee has been set up under the Chairmanship of Minister of State for Youth Affairs & Sports Sarbananda Sonowal and N. Ramachandran, President Indian Olympic Association as co – chairman.
