State runners to take part in Mumbai Marathon

Shillong: RUNMeghalaya, a team of 18 local runners and a physical training Instructor left for Mumbai to participate in the Standard Chartered Mumbai Marathon to be held on January 17.
The Mumbai Marathon is the largest marathon in India with the maximum number of participants of 40,000. It is one of the few AIMS certified races in India, which meets the highest international standard for marathons.
This is the first time that a large contingent from Meghalaya will be representing at an international world-renowned marathon.  All runners will be running the Full Marathon of 42.2Km.
The marathoners to participate in the Mumbai Marathon 2016 are Stilin Jyrwa, Tlanding Wahlang and Swonding Mawlong from Mawkyrwat, Kresstarjune Pathaw from Nongthliew, Darishisha Iangjuh, Kalyani Namshum, Kitbor Suting, Michael Thongnirit ,Ksanbor Kharmawphlang, Arbet Nonglang, Manbha Ramsiej, Marvin Kharkongor,  Okitlang Syiemlieh, Wanbok Syiemsad, Mayborn Syiemlieh, Badon Sing Tham, Pynshngainlang Dkhar  and Gerald Pde from Shillong.
Also accompanying the team is the Physical Training Donkupar Kharjana who has been coordinating the training sessions.
