SHILLONG: The Bharatiya Janata Yuva Morcha (BJYM) has condemned the State Cabinet’s recent decision to amend the Meghalaya Services (Conduct) Rules, which debarred Government servants from being office bearers in traditional bodies or other organizations. BJYM president Egenstar Kurkalang on Thursday demanded the Government to revert the decision.
“It is the fundamental right of any citizen to contribute to society by holding office in any of the community-based organizations.,” he said.
He also informed that the party’s youth wing will convene a meeting to plan the further course of action, if the Government goes ahead with the amendment.
