Woman killed in accident

SHILLONG: A woman was killed and five others injured when the car in which they were travelling plunged into a gorge at Nongsning village in East Jaintia Hills on Wednesday.
According to police, the incident occurred at around 11 am on January 20 when the vehicle (Maruti Alto-800 car, ML-04C-0926) driven by one Conform Ryngkhlem fell into a gorge at Nongsning village.
As a result, one occupant identified as Shiel Siangshai died on the spot, while five others including the driver sustained injuries. A criminal case has been registered in this connection.
