SHILLONG: The proscribed HNLC has criticized the police for not being able to solve the IED related explosion cases in Khasi-Jaintia Hills region.
In a statement issued to the section of press on Thursday, Saiñkupar Nongtraw, publicity secretary of HNLC said that it was a matter of concern that the police department has not been able to solve three cases of IED in the region.
However, the HNLC did not make it categorically clear whether the outfit was behind the Lad Rymbai blast.
The HNLC said that the first IED blast took place at Jaintia Hills in 2012 wherein 2 migrant
labourers were killed and 15 others injured.
The second IED explosion took place at Jhalupara, end of last year, and the third one on January 26 at Lad Rymbai.
The HNLC pointed out that the police with all the forensic experts are not able to ascertain who carried out the blasts.
The militant outfit also said that the recent parade of the RSS in the heart of the city and in Garo hills signifies that “outside forces are trying to spoil the demography of our region”.
Besides, the Marwari businessmen are exploiting the economy of our region as they are controlling the prices of all the essential commodities, the HNLC added.
