Sen appointed Acting Chief Justice of High Court

SHILLONG: After the retirement of present Acting Chief Justice T.N.K. Singh who was given a farewell on his last working day on Friday, Justice S.R. Sen, Judge of the High Court of Meghalaya, has been appointed as Acting Chief Justice by the President of India with immediate effect.
Following the retirement of Chief Justice Uma Nath Singh in mid-January the Supreme Court Collegium had recommended the name of Justice Dinesh Maheshwari of the Allahabad High Court as the new Chief Justice of the High Court of Meghalaya.
He is, however, yet to take over the post.
