TURA: Army personnel from the Baida camp in Tikrikilla arrested two wanted militants of the UALA on Friday night and recovered arms from their possession.
The arrests were made following a tip off from the Garo Hills police. A factory made 9 mm pistol with two live rounds and a country made single shot 9 mm pistol were seized from their possession.
The army also recovered a motorcycle (ML07 A 0584), two mobile phones and four sim cards from the arrested duo. The arrested ultras have been identified as Binath M Sangma of Bolchugre village under Rangsakona and Jingson B Marak of Katonggre  village in Raksamgre.
Despite the signing of a peace pact with the UALA by the State Government a couple of weeks back, some cadres of the outfit continue to breach the terms of the pact.
Following the arrests, the West Garo Hills Police seized a gun and ammo making equipment including lead pellets and gunpowder during a raid at Gendupara village of Jengjal. Two persons were also taken into custody.
