TURA: In view of this year’s board and university examinations which is just round the corner several Garo Hills based NGOs including the GSU interim body, GHSMC, PGSU, TGCSU, ASWA, AAYF, Caring Fathers’ Foundation along with the Tura Traders’ Union (TTU) have sought the re-scheduling of the ongoing Mela at the Police Parade Ground and urged the West Garo Hills Deputy Commissioner to intervene.
In their complaint the NGOs pointed out that the students would be greatly disturbed while preparing for their exams if the Mela was allowed to continue and urged the DC to effect the rescheduling of the programme to a later date.
