20-member Indian women’s football squad named

SHILLONG: Twenty players have been selected for the Indian Senior Women’s National Team squad for the 12th South Asian Games, slated to kick-off on February 07 in the city.
The women footballers were selected after a 14-day National Camp here from January 17-30.
The Indian eves will lock horns with Bangladesh in their opening encounter on February 7 before taking on Sri Lanka, Maldives and Nepal on February 9, 11 and 13 respectively.
Earlier on Monday head coach of the Indian Women’s National Team Sajid Dar had expressed confidence that his side would be able to defend the South Asian Games football title.
Talking to All India Football Federation official website Dar said, “We have with us an able group of players who can go on and win this tournament. At the same time, we respect our opponents and have to take one match at a time.”
The Squad:
Goalkeepers: Aditi Chauhan, Roshini Devi, Panthoi Chanu
Defenders: Ashalata Devi, Radharani Devi, Manisa Panna, Supriya Routray, Umapati Devi, Dalima Chibber.
Midfielders: Bembem Devi, Premi Devi, Sangita Basfore, Margaret Devi, Sasmita Malik, Prameshwori Devi, Sanju.
Forwards: Bala Devi, Dangmei Grace, Kamala Devi, Pyari Xaxa

Feb 11: India vs Maldives
Feb 13: India vs Nepal
