Three arrested for NGT ban violation

SHILLONG: Three people were apprehended by the staff of Rongrenggre Reserve Forest in East Garo Hills for transporting coal in violation of NGT order at Chiading.
Police said that on January 30 night, one truck (AS-18C-4313) driven by Md. Abdul Halim was detected  transporting coal in violation of NGT order at Chiading and two persons identified as Md. Mustafa Kamal and Chekan Marak were apprehended, and later they were handed over to Williamnagar Police. An FIR in this regard has been lodged by Jerakchi K Marak, forest official in charge Rongrenggre Reserve Forest.
