TURA: Accusations and counter accusations continue within the Janapriya Higher Secondary School in Bholarbhita with the President of the Adhoc committee who is at the centre of the controversy this time, pointing the finger at the local MDC and accusing him of turning the school into a house of politics.
Earlier, S G Esmatur Mominin, the local MDC of Shyamnagar, had submitted a public complaint to the Director of School Education and Literacy (DSEL) appealing that there is no more extension of the Adhoc committee.
“The local MDC has made the school a house of politics and a business hub using the principal as a radar. Several times, community leaders had tried to convene a general public meeting but it was postponed by the MDC. I have never interfered with the holding of the meeting,” the President of the Adhoc committee, Sader Hossain claimed.
With regard to his notification to the principal for the collection of fees from students of class VI to VIII on January 20 after he himself had levelled accusations that the principal was collecting illegally from classes which had been exempted of fees by the Government, Hossain claimed he had issued the notification after fees for the said classes were reduced based on public complaints.
“There is nothing controversial about the notification,” he added.
Further, he claimed that a general public meeting was scheduled to be held on January 28 to form a regular managing committee which had to be cancelled as the principal could not provide the parents’ guardians’ list.
He added that due to the postponement the meeting had been rescheduled and would now be held on February 4.
