Eight held, trucks seized for NGT order violation in EJH

SHILLONG: Police have arrested eight persons and detained as many as eight trucks in East Jaintia Hills for transporting coal in violation of the NGT order.
Police said the trucks – AS-24-2989, AS-01T-6521, AS-01R-9537, AS-01DC-6549, AS-01BC-8565, AS-01K-6178, AS-01BC-2996 & AS-24C-2386 – driven by Md. Riaz Ali, Sanjay Kumar Nath, Freewell Pale, Md. Tahir Hussain, Iqbal Hussain Laskar, Nupur Chandra, Md. Nazir Uddin and Md. Hussain Ahmed were detected on February 2 at Umpleng and Khliehriat areas.
