27th Annual State Arm Wrestling C’ship held on Jan 30

Shillong: The Meghalaya Arm Wrestling Association organised 27th  Annual State Arm Wrestling  Championship at Khasi National Durbar Hall in Mawkhar, Shillong on January 30. Power Gym lead the event while West Khasi HillsArm Wrestling Association were runners-up.
The event was held for both Men and Women in different weight categories and the 1st place winners of each category are as follows:
Brandon Basaiawmoit was the winner in  men’s 50 kg category,  Daniel Nongkhlaw bagged first prize in men’s 55 kg category,  Pynshaitborlang Nongrang was winner in men’s 60 kg category,  Alexson Roy Mylliem Umlong winner in men’s 65 kg category,  Mai Mai Laloo was winner in men’s 70 kg category,  Kishore Chettri was winner in men’s 75 kg category,  Allan Sun Marbaniang  was winner in men’s 80 kg category, Baniaikyrsoi Khongwir was winner men’s 85 kg category and Jeremy Bert Rangat bagged the first prize in men’s 90 kg category.
In the women’s 50 kg weight category, Angel Marry Mylliem Umlong was the winner, Margareth Pathaw was the winner in the women’s 55 kg category, Badarihun Marngar bagged the first prize in women’s 60 kg weight category, Aiboklin Rina winner in women’s 70 kg weight category and Mihsngewbha Rymbai was the winner women’s 75 kg weight category.
The first and second position holders will represent Meghalaya in the 40th National Arm Wrestling  Championship to be held at Nagpur form  May 20 to 24.
