SHILLONG: Pakistan badminton team coach Liaqat Ali has said that he favours the resumption of cricket ties between his country and India. Ali also advocated ties in other sports between the two nations which hardly see eye to eye.
Speaking to a section of the media at the NEHU, SAI Special Area Games here on Saturday on the sidelines of the 12th South Asian Games badminton team events, Ali said that the cricket lovers of both the countries want to see that ties resume at the earliest.
“Not only cricket, but the two nations should engage in all kind of sports to ease the prevailing tension between them,” he said.
The Pakistan coach also expressed confidence that his team would perform well in the doubles and mixed doubles event.
Wants to play India
in final
“We would like to play against India in the final. We all know that India is a world class team in badminton,” Ali said.
