SHILLONG: All Jaintia Youth Welfare Organization (AJYWO) has condemned the recent rape and murder of two children by Emvyris Dkhar alias Michael Dkhar at East Jaintia Hills.
In a press statement, the organization said that the heinous crime has created a fear psychosis in the children; the rise of such crimes in East Jaintia Hills is a matter of great concern as by taking undue advantage of children and women, it has driven the society to the edge of fear as observed by M.H Dkhar, president of AJYWO, central body. It also condemned the murder of a woman at Tuberkmai on January 24. Recently, in a case that has shocked the State where crimes against women and children are witnessing a sudden spurt over the years, the culprit had raped and murdered a 3-year-old, and during interrogation he also threw light on the rape and murder of an 11-year-old in 2015.
