SHILLONG: In a heinous case of incest, a man has been accused of raping his daughter.
The man has also been accused of raping his grandniece in 2001 resulting in the girl getting pregnant and delivering a baby boy.
Two separates FIRs were filed by the wife of the accused, Josephin Pohrmen from Nongtalang Chnongthmai, seeking action from the police on the two incidents.
Adding to the FIRs, the accused had forced his wife to act as the mother of the child born from his grandniece enabling him to enter the names in his service records.
Curiously, though his name is Bonifast Shadap, he used his elder brother’s name Tennyson Shadap and also his certificates to get recruited as a driver in the Army, the FIR stated.
As per the FIR, the wife stated that on February 4 the accused had sexually assaulted his daughter and when she tried to intervene, he assaulted her too prompting her to leave for her relative’s place at Nongtalang where after enquiring from her daughter, it was found that she had been raped several times since 2013 and had even been raped thrice in January, 2016.
In the other FIR, the wife stated that in 2001, he had raped her grandniece when she was aged around 15 and when the pregnancy was detected in August 2002 following a medical check-up she had revealed the name of the culprit.
Surprisingly, after she revealed the name of the accused, he consumed poison and had to be rushed to Nongtalang CHC.
