CM holds meet for beautification of Tura town

SHILLONG: Keeping in line with the State Government’s agenda of promoting Meghalaya as a tourist destination, Chief Minister Mukul Sangma on Monday met the representatives of village development committees, Tura Traders’ Union and other stakeholders to discuss the beautification of Tura and making the town and localities livable, safe and secure.
Deputy Commissioner, West Garo Hills, Pravin Bakshi, chairman, Tura Municipal Board, Donbosh Sangma and chief executive officer of the board, S.B. Marak were among others present at the meeting.
As the beautification process for the entire town would involve huge investment, the Chief Minister suggested going locality wise, starting with Walbakgre and Danakgre areas of the town.
The Chief Minister shared the concept of making market areas more attractive and enhancing the region’s infrastructure. He also came up with the idea of opening (Contd on P-10)
