TURA: GHADC MDC from Shyamnagar, S G Esmatur Mominin along with the Principal of the Janapriya Higher Secondary School and a section of the local people from Bholarbhita has refuted the alleged formation of a new SMC for the school, a claim made by Sader Hossain, the controversial head of the Adhoc committee which was published in a local paper on February 5.
According to Mominin, there was no general meeting held at the school premises for formation of a new SMC on February 4 as claimed by Hossain, which is evident from the fact that the school had remained open on the day and no parents or guardians had attended the meeting.
He further said that after learning of Hossain announcing the proposed general meeting on February 4, the people had on February 3 sent a written appeal to the DSEO not to allow the meeting to take place at such short notice and the DSEO in turn had requested the district’s SP in writing to prevent the unauthorised gathering at the school premises, a copy of which was also produced at the time of the MDC’s visit to this office.
The MDC claimed that Hossain had been manipulating proceedings and cancelling several general meetings since 2009 merely to hold on to his post to fulfil his own vested interests.
“The adhoc committee was formed for a term of 3 months in 2009 with Hossain as its head to facilitate the formation of a new SMC.”
“However, since the very beginning till now, he has been manipulating the cancellation of several general meetings for his own selfish ends,” he said.
Mominin stated that the holding of the general meeting as claimed by Hossain was illegal as there was no instruction from the DSEO, prior notices from the school principal at least 7 days ahead of the meeting or the attendance of parents, guardians, Principal and teaching staff of the school.
The MDC on behalf of the local people of the area has instead requested to allow the constitution of a regular managing committee by holding of free and fair general meeting as per the DSEO’s earlier order of February 2.
